We're sure America's finest were pleased as punch to see Mark Wahlberg as he made a surprise visit to the troops at Camp Leatherneck in Afghanistan just before Christmas time.
The actor posed for pictures and signed autographs for hundreds of troops. He also gave them a viewing of his latest movie, The Fighter, which is out in theaters now.

Will Smith’s Willow’s Boss, Not Her Daddy!
At least on paper!
Here's the deal: Pint-sized pop superstar Willow Smith is signed to Jay-Z's record label, Roc Nation. The label, according to documentation, entered into an agreement to rep Willow with Spooky Girl, Inc., Willow's own company. Well, sort of.
Willow may be the girlie behind the name, but the President of the company is actually her father, Will Smith. So, when you check out her contract with Spooky Girl, Willow is listed as Will's "employee," not his child.
Makes sense, we guess. Business is business - family is family. However, what's really interesting is that under the section listing Willow's parental units, only Jada Pinkett Smith is listed. Apparently, Will can't be listed as her father as it conflicts with his role as her label boss. But, this also means that Jada has legal rights to protect Willow from Will when it comes to the business.
Hmm… This could be foreshadowing some family drama in the making, but we sincerely hope not. We adore Willow and only want to see good things for her.
Oh, it's also interesting to mention that Willow's Roc Nation contract has been sealed and filed with the courts, so no wandering eyes can stumble upon exactly how much Willow make$$$!

Okay, so maybe things didn't go so well when George Clooney tried to play a hero in Batman & Robin, but now it looks like he's getting a second chance in real life.
Yesterday, a group founded by George Clooney announced that it's teaming up with Google, a U.N. agency, and anti-genocide organizations to launch "satellite surveillance of the border between north and south Sudan to try to prevent a new civil war after the south votes in a secession referendum next month."

Octo-Mom Faces Eviction In 2011
What an awful way to start the New Year! Really, really sad.
Back in October, we reported that Amer Haddadin, the man who owns Octo-Mom Nadya Suleman's house, was gearing up to take action against her for not paying the MAJOR debt she owes to him.
Since Octo-Mom still hasn't made the effort to pay up on the 0,000 balloon payment that she owes Haddadin, it looks like he's decided to officially start eviction proceedings against her if she doesn't take care of the entire payment.
If Suleman is unable to pay off her loan by Dec 31, Haddadin plans to sue her and start up eviction proceedings on January 3rd.
This story gets worse and worse. We hope she's able to work something out quickly, although we can't imagine what!

Idol’s Bowersox Outsells Winner Lee DeWyze
Another American Idol runner-up outsells the first place winner!
Despite coming in second place during AI's ninth season, Crystal Bowersox's debut album Farmer's Daughter posted higher sales during its first week than first place winner Lee Dewyze's debut, which hit stores in November.
Farmer's Daughter outsold almost 19,000 more units than DeWyze's Live It Up in its first week, selling 58,000 copies.
While the album did better than her fellow contestant's debut, sales were still weak compared to previous season's winners and runner-up contestants. Her album only ranked higher than first-season runner-up Justin Guaurini, which sold 57,000 copies and third-season runner-up, Diana Degarmo, which sold 47,000 copies.
Ouch.
Compared to runner-ups like Adam Lambert, who wold 198,000 copies of his album For Your Entertainment and second-season runner-up, Clay Aiken, who sold 613,000 copies of his album, Measure Of A Man, in its first week, Bowersox barely made a dent on the Billboard charts.
It doesn't seem like AI is really producing music idols anymore. Can the 10th season bring in another successful singer? What do U think?

Wheezy Helps A Fan In Need, Buys Her Mother A Wheelchair!
This was so nice of him!
While Lil' Wayne was serving time in Riker's Island, he was constantly recieving letters from a fan in New Jersey, Ronda Austin. In her letters, which came once a week, she would tell him about her life and family, including her mother, who has been confined to a wheelchair for quite some time now.
After hearing about the women's plight, Wheezy, while still in prison, had his charitable foundation bring the woman a brand new motorized wheelchair, with his thanks for the family's support. And no one was more surprised than Ronda.
She told sources:
"I couldn't believe it. I never asked for nothing. I just told him all kinds of different things about me. I never even said I needed help."
As for her mother, Evelyn, the chair has given her a new lease on life, allowing her to finally leave her home and take strolls around the neighborhood and even take a trip to Atlantic City. She told sources:
"I pray for him every night thanking him for this chair."
When reached for comment about his most generous gift, Nina Packer, who heads Lil' Wayne's charitable foundation, would only say it was "something he was compelled to do."
Such a good deed. That's what the spirit of the season is all about!

Our thoughts are with his family and loved ones during this difficult time.

President Obama To Sign Bill To End DADT!

Earlier today, the Senate passed a vote to repeal the 17-year-old policy, "Don't Ask, Don't Tell."
President Obama praised Congress and sent a letter to the Democratic National Committee and his supporters on his behalf. This is what he wrote:
Moments ago, the Senate voted to end "Don't Ask, Don't Tell."
When that bill reaches my desk, I will sign it, and this discriminatory law will be repealed.Gay and lesbian service members — brave Americans who enable our freedoms — will no longer have to hide who they are.
The fight for civil rights, a struggle that continues, will no longer include this one.
This victory belongs to you. Without your commitment, the promise I made as a candidate would have remained just that.

Instead, you helped prove again that no one should underestimate this movement. Every phone call to a senator on the fence, every letter to the editor in a local paper, and every message in a congressional inbox makes it clear to those who would stand in the way of justice: We will not quit.

Senate Votes To Repeal Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell!
This is huge. HUGE!!
With a 63-33 vote on Saturday to end the "don't ask, don't tell" policy in the Senate, this is a huge victory in the repeal of DADT.
The bill now moves to the president's desk for the final vote.
If DADT is repealed, it would mean that gays would be openly accepted by the military and could acknowledge their sexual orientation without the fear of being fired.
"I don't care who you love, if you love this country enough to risk your life for it, you shouldn't have to hide who you are. You ought to be able to serve," said Sen. Ron Wyden (D-Ore.)
After the Senate's vote, President Obama said in a statement:
"The Senate has taken an historic step toward ending a policy that undermines our national security while violating the very ideals that our brave men and women in uniform risk their lives to defend."
Meanwhile, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., said, "We are on the verge of ending 'don't ask, don't tell' for good."
Repealing DADT will not go into effect immediately. There will be a 60-day waiting period as the Pentagon implements new rules.

Tron Legacy 3D Opens BIG!
When you've beaten one of Avatar's records, you know you've done good with your movie!
Sources are reporting that Disney's Tron Legacy 3D did extraordinarily well last night at it's midnight showings. According to reports, the movie grossed .5 million from the screenings, with just over a million of that coming form the 228 IMAX screens it was playing on.
That number is reported to be the biggest percentage, about 25+%, done by any movie's midnight box office premiere in IMAX. It bested Iron Man 2, Inception, and yes, even Avatar.
Hmm. Wonder if it will overtake any of those movies' overall gross at IMAX? We shall see!
