The Social Network Takes Best Picture At Critics’ Choice Awards
If this film doesn't get the Oscar for Best Picture, we'll be shocked!
The Social Network won yet another award, taking the top critics' award for best film of 2010 at the Critics Choice Movie Awards on Friday night.
The film took four awards, winning Best Picture, Best Director to David Fincher, Best Adapted Screenplay to Aaron Sorkin, and Best Score to Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross.

As for the best actor categories, Colin Firth took home the Best Actor award for The King's Speech and Natalie Portman took away the Best Actress award for Black Swan.
Christian Bale won Best Supporting Actor and his Fighter co-star Melissa Leo took the award for Best Supporting Actress. In fact, the entire cast received the award for Best Acting Ensemble.
The race to the Oscars is definitely on - and with The Social Network picking up awards left and right, it's most likely to win big at the Academy Awards.

Kiefer Sutherland Goes From TV To…

After 24 ended, Kiefer Sutherland has not been back on the small screen - and now the screen is even smaller!
The actor will appear in The Confession, 10 five-to-seven-minute webisodes that will appear on Hulu in March. Sutherland will play a hitman who has a theological discussion with a priest (John Hurt) about why his victims deserved to die.
Kiefer said:
“It came about in such a different way. I was meeting a couple friends of mine, who wanted to introduce me to Chris Young (of Digital Broadcasting Group). I know so little about the internet, but that’s what a lot of friends do for work. Most of that stuff being produced for the internet is comedy, very much like Jackass kind of material, which is great but didn’t appeal to me.
Chris started talking about wanting to do a drama, but his criteria was so different. A drama in five-minute episodes! It was one of those things, like a puzzle over the course of the lunch. It can’t be that complicated to figure out a story in five minutes, right? I couldn’t, and it frustrated the crap out of me. So I went home that night, still thinking about it, and it stayed with me for three days. I was falling asleep when I literally got this idea of a confessional."
The show was filmed over nine days in NYC in December right before rehearsals for Broadway’s That Championship Season.
“In all fairness, it looks fantastic,” said Sutherland of the web series, which he is exec producing. ”We shot it in the fifth-largest snow storm. It was pretty amazing.”
He added:
“We called on a lot of favors. A dollar is a dollar. It gets you what you get. There’s no way around that, so you’re phoning dear friends for favors. None of us were paid what we normally get paid. Everybody found their own challenge in it, and that was the reason to do it. All of us believe very strongly that the internet is the future, the largest network in world, with the ability to reach a big audience.
We have a couple ideas we are working on that we are very excited about. 24 was a lot of work, it certainly had its ups and downs. But for so many reasons, it was one of the great experiences of my life. I miss the daily grind of it, which I was surprised about because that’s the one thing you complain about all the time. Be careful what you ask for!”
Chris Young, CEO of Digital Broadcasting Group, stated:
“The Confession sets a precedent for what is possible in original webisodic content. Never before has something of this magnitude and motion picture quality come to the third screen. I’m thrilled to be working with such A-list talent and top-tier sponsors to finally capture and crystallize the seismic shift in how content of this caliber is released, distributed and enjoyed by an audience that will rival that of a hit television series.”

Data From Dr. Murray’s Phone Admissible In MJ Murder Case

Today, a judge ruled that Dr. Conrad Murray's cell phone and phone records were admissible for the prosecution in the Michael Jackson murder case.
Prosecutors intend to use the phone records to help create a detailed timeline of the doctor's actions on the day MJ died. However, the defense may also be using this new evidence to their advantage. They reportedly have 12 screenshots found on the phone that may be used as evidence, as well as several brief voicemails.
This was all decided upon moments before Dr. Murray was scheduled to take the stand. We're sure we'll more about that a little later.

Kylie Minogue’s Aphrodite Les Folies Tour Is Going To Be Epic!!!
We're not joking. Never in our lives have we heard of a more elaborate and exciting design for a concert.
Kylie Minogue's peeps have just released some amazing information about her upcoming Aphrodite Les Folies and it sounds so exciting, we always wet our manties with glee!
According to her Facebook page, the tour will have the "most technologically advanced and extravagant stage that has ever been built to date." There will be 1 million movable parts associated with the stage, seven lifts, 600 light sources, a special "Fly System," which was inspired by the Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark on Broadway and a "Wet Zone."
Oh yes, water plays a HUGE factor into the staging. Just look at the picture they posted (above.) Those jets are going to be able to shoot 30 meters into the air, according to insiders. And that's not all! As we understand it, the developers of the water shows at Bellagio and the Disney California Adventure theme park lent a hand in creating the water elements for the tour!
Rad! Sounds incredible!
We're told that the grand total for everything, from the staging to the 200 costumes to the 20 air acrobats is million! Wowza! A pretty penny - but totally worth it!

It's no secret that the brothers who once made up the band Oasis have a bit of bad blood between them. Today, however, Liam Gallagher is throwing down the gauntlet against his brother Noel, accusing him of stealing music from him for his solo album.
Liam confessed to one source that he has heard his brother's solo venture and it sounds all too familar to him, as he insists many of the tracks he wrote while they were still in Oasis together. He explained further:
"I've heard his new record 'cos I f****** sung on half of it. When I was in America for Dig Out Your Soul he swiped some off it because he obviously knew he wanted to do a solo album. So he can talk all the bullsh*t about, 'Oh, I was intimidated,' and all that. F***ing nonsense. Behave. He knows. The people know. And I know."
That's a pretty serious accusation. No doubt Noel have a retort for Liam soon enough.
Such a shame, though. They made their best music when they worked together. No chance of that happening again, we suppose.

OMG! Streisand To Play Mama Rose In Gypsy!
Okay, here's the thing: No one can deny that you couldn't take your eyes off of Rosalind Russell in the 1960's version of Gypsy. She was stellar, perfection even. She made Mama Rose the iconic character she is today.
But if there was anyone who was groomed to fill Rosalind's shoes in the rumored movie remake of the classic musical, it's Barbra Streisand.

It’s Official! Lady GaGa’s Choreographer Gets Reality Show!
Although it was reported to be in development, the docusoap series starring Laurieann Gibson (aka Lady GaGa's choreographer) has been picked up by E!
The Dance Scene, which is produced by Ryan Seacrest, will follow Gibson as she trains assistant choreographers and dancers to work with high profile stars. And it's just a half hour show!
Lisa Berger, executive vice president of E! programming said:
“The competitive world of the professional dancer is grueling creative work. Watching Laurieann mentor these young artists, who will do anything to make it in the business, gives us a glimpse into a world where the pursuit of success and excellence outweighs all else."
Seacrest added:
“Dance is at the center of pop culture — today more than ever — and Laurieann is an amazing force accelerating this huge wave of creativity. This series gives audiences an insider’s view of how competitive the dance world is, the talent and ambition that a dancer needs to be successful in the Hollywood scene, and the drama that ensues along the way.”
Sounds amazing! The series debuts April 10th.

The Gosselin Kids Continue To Misbehave
With parents like Jon and Kate Gosselin, do you blame them??
The Gosselin kids are apparently becoming extremely out of control!
According to Life & Style magazine, during a trip to Philadelphia for a Kate Plus 8 shoot, the children were misbehaving and Kate didn't even bother to discipline them.
A source says, "The kids started running wild …. They were trying to touch the bell and the guards freaked out." However, instead of getting her eight kids in control, Kate was just plain rude to the guards. The source adds, "She was incredibly nasty to them and tried to make excuses for her kids behavior. But the kids were DEFINITELY out of line."
We feel sorry for any nanny that has to be in the middle of that situation.
These kids are obviously acting out and it doesn't help that they're required to "work" in front of cameras.

R.I.P. – Inception Actor Passes Away
Veteran British actor Pete Postlethwaite passed away on Sunday at the age of 64.
The Oscar nominated Postlethwaite was suffering from a long battle with cancer.
Actor David Schneider recalls about Pete:
"Anyone who worked with him felt great affection for him. He was very un-actory. Sort of like a national treasure. There is so much affection for him; he was a wonderful actor and a wonderful bloke."
