United Airlines has grounded its entire fleet of Boeing 757 planes for "unscheduled maintenance."
Here's what United spokesman Rahsaan Johnson had to say about it:
"Specifically … United is performing follow-up maintenance checks starting today to the air data computers on its 96 Boeing 757s. All of the air data computers are fully functional. The checks are necessary as part of a modification process to the system."
Apparently, each check takes 60 to 90 minutes, and the fleet should be up-and-running again in 12 to 24 hours.
More from the FAA's Laura Brown:
"This is a voluntary action on United's part, and we will follow up as necessary."
Obvi we approve of airlines taking any AND ALL necessary measures to keep their planes in perfect working order, but it's a bit unsettling that this is an "unscheduled maintenance" and that it's putting their entire 757 fleet out of commission for as much as a day.
You're gonna lose a lot of business like that, United. Why is this happening all at once? How long have we been flying on potentially unsafe planes???

Flavor Flav Is Coming Back To TV! And Heading To High School!
And just when we thought he'd been off the grid long enough to be out of our lives forever!
Former Public Enemy rapper Flavor Flav has already touched our lives in bizarre and uncomfortable significant ways with his appearances on such reality shows as The Surreal Life and Strange Love, and now, he's ready to take the Billy Madison route and go back and try to earn his high school diploma - on a reality TV show called Flavor Flav Goes Back To High School!
The rapper will attempt to attend school in Clinton, Iowa, and sources close to production have learned that they're attempting to pay students to stick around and film with him after hours, as to not disrupt the teens' normal schedule during the day.
However, Clinton School System Superintendent Deb Olsen has yet to be fully receptive to the idea, and thinks that his presence will bring "a substantial disruption to the school day" and could have "an adverse effect on students."
Flav has already met with Olsen and a member of the school board, and is expected to speak in front of all the officials in the upcoming weeks.
He explains:
"I want this show to be able to influence people my age, that if you dropped out of high school when you were young it's never too late to go back to get your diploma."
Very true! And we'll admit, he certainly sounds as though he's committed to actually doing it, camera crews or not!
But don't be disappointed if they turn you down, bb!
The well-being of the kids has to come first in these scenarios, and as much as we want to see you succeed, you may have to do so in a night-school setting!
Fingers crossed, either way!

Well, what do you know? Another lucky break for Lindsay Lohan.

So, Lindsay has two major hearings coming up: one for her felony grand theft charge and one hearing in regards to her thievery being in violation of her probation. The latter was supposed to be handled by Judge Elden Fox. You'll remember him as the judge who looked LiLo square in the eyes, pursed his lips and told her if he ever saw her in his courtroom again for any unruly shenanigans, he would lock her up and throw way the key. (Cue menacing cackle!) However, unfortunately for him, he won't get that chance.
LiLo's savior attorney Shawn Holley explained to sources that Lindsay's "Beverly Hills case has been transferred to the LAX courthouse and will, from this point forward, be handled by the judge [Judge Keith Schwartz] who is handling the new case."
Look how skillfully that bullet was dodged, huh? It's almost too easy for them now, they're such pros!
So with Judge Fox out, all that's left for LiLo and Co. to do is prove that her sticky fingers never took that necklace without permission. After everything else they've managed to pull off, that shouldn't be so difficult.
Unless, she really is guilty. The truth has a funny way of always making an appearance…always!

Smallville Bummer!
As the long running CW show starts wrapping up its final season, fans are eagerly awaiting to see how it will all end for Superman on Smallville.
Yes, we know, there are tons of movies and comics out there to give them an idea, but really, the show has created its own Super-universe, so perhaps the creators have a twist Man of Steel fans aren't expecting.
One thing all Smallville fans have been hoping for in the end is a guest appearance by Michael Rosenbaum. Michael, who originated the role of Lex in the first few seasons, left the show a few years ago to pursue other creative avenues.
But honestly, how is the show supposed to end without a Lex vs. Clark Kent showdown?
Sadly, it seems like it might.
Source close to the show say producers have been practically BEGGING him to return for an episode, but he's outright refused. One knowledgeable source explains:
“He has put the show behind him and moved on. He’s pursuing his other creative outlet [writing]. By all indications, he is not going to be involved.”
Boo! You know, we hate when actors don't have loyalty to their roots. Would it really have killed him to head up to Vancouver for a few days as a favor for some old friends?

Stevie Nicks Graces The Set Of Glee

Of all the times we've dream of visiting McKinley High, never have we ever wanted to be there more than yesterday.
According to the cast, Glee was visited by Stevie Nicks yesterday, as they were shooting scenes with Gwyneth Paltrow. Apparently, her visit was a surprise to the kids as Dianna Agron raved on her Twitter that it was a "wonderful and unexpected day."
The gang is rumored to be singing Landslide with Gwyn in a future episode, but don't expect Stevie to jump in a the chorus. We're told Stevie didn't film any scenes during her visit and there are no plans for her to in the near future. (Boo!)
But fear not! When her rep was reached for comment, he gave us a glimmer of hope. He told sources, "We can of course hope and dream of a day when that could happen."

Miley Opens Up About Smoking Salvia For The First Time!
Finally! It was only a matter of time before she had to address what happened!
As pretty much everyone knows, a video of Miley Cyrus leaked a few months back featuring the former Disney starlet smoking what was alleged to be salvia out of a bong. She then proceeded to get high as balls, confused some stranger for her ex Liam Hemsworth, and attempted to rap Nicki Minaj.
Recently, Cyrus sat down with Marie Claire magazine while she was shooting So Undercover in New Orleans, and the incident was brought up, which prompted what we thought to be a pretty interesting explanation!
At first, she reportedly went down the generic route, and apologized:
"I'm not perfect…I made a mistake…I'm disappointed in myself for disappointing my fans…"
But when she was asked, "But do you really think it was a mistake? Obviously college kids your age all over America are smoking bongs with a lot more than salvia in them," that MileyBird FINALLY seemed to get real, and explains:
"But they're not Miley Cyrus. They're not role models. So for me it was a bad decision, because of my fans and because of what I stand for."

A very mature and PERCEPTIVE response! She does seem to understand the impact she has on her audience, and how even what would be a MINOR incident for any other kid her age is a massive deal for her.

Steve Harvey’s Ex-Wife Gets Torn Apart…By Her Judge
After Steve Harvey's ex-wife tore him apart on YouTube, the comedian responded in a very classy manner.
Now, Judge Robert Dry has "slammed" Mary Harvey for spreading false information about Steve AND potentially breaking a gag order.
Here are some items that Mary Harvey lied about, according to Judge Robert Dry's court declaration:
-She was never homeless or evicted from her home, and was "awarded three home in the property settlement" with Steve, AND received ,00/month through Mar 09, AND she received another .5 million.
-Steve didn't take Mary's son from her, but rather she "willingly placed the child on an airplane and sent him to Mr. Harvey without his knowledge."
-Steve did not "withhold or turn the child against Mary"
-Steve's current wife Marjorie Bridges "was not a part of the original divorce proceeding, nor was she a cause of the marital breakup"
At this time, Mary has been ordered to take down the defamatory Steve Harvey videos, and she's banned from "discussing the pending and past litigation with the media."
A decision regarding whether or not Mary Harvey violated an earlier gag order will be made on March 10.
We're glad to hear this. We were impressed with how Steve's dealt with this thus far, and we're glad to hear that Mary is being put in her place, as the truth becomes increasingly clear.

Yes, it's come to that.
According to sources, Lindsay Lohan will be charged with felony grand theft tomorrow. The charge will be filed at Airport Court in L.A. in the morning and Lindsay will be arraigned at 1:30 PM. She must be present for the hearing and if she is convicted, she could be sent right back to prison for the third time in her young life.
To be honest, we're not surprised. We hoped for the best, but expected the worst with this one. Still, we wish her luck tomorrow.

Though we heard Howard Stern clear as day call out Piers Morgan recently for being a bit too full of himself, Howie is telling sources that there is no feud between himself and the newly appointed CNN host. Before heading out to another interview, Howard insisted to sources:
"What, is there a feud? I like Piers Morgan. He's got a lot of pressure on him. He's gotta get some ratings. Larry King was beating him…I was offering him some advice. I said, 'You can't have a guests on for a whole hour unless they're very commanding, like myself and Oprah. He was challenging me, saying he's the king of all media. I said 'Never mind being the king of all media, just be king of CNN and get see if you get that going first.'"
Well, for the sake of argument, if you were in a feud, you'd definitely be winning. We've seen the ratings and he's got nothing on you.

Former Enron CEO’s Son Found Dead In Dorm Room
First, Bernie Madoff's son committed suicide back in December, and now former Enron CEO Jeffrey Skilling's son John Taylor has been found dead in his dorm room.
So sad and disturbing to see the sons of these imprisoned "businessmen" going down this road.
No word yet on whether Skilling's death was related to suicide, foul play, or something else, but students have said that the former CEO's son was "despondent over a recent breakup with his girlfriend." Also, multiple prescription drug bottles were nearby the body, which makes suicide seem like a strong possibility.
Guess we'll see what they find out after the toxicology reports come back.

Halle Attacks Gabriel With Another Racist Claim
Halle Berry's camp is painting a really ugly picture of this guy. They really should use another tactic to get what they want from him other than viciously slinging mud.
New reports have surfaced claiming Halle's baby daddy, Gabriel Aubry, "went nuts" whenever someone would refer to their daughter as "black."
No, he wasn't trying to be politically correct. Supposedly, he would go off insisting that his baby was white. He allegedly got so angry when people referred to Nahla as "black," that he demanded a "retraction" whenever the word was used. These claims are adding to the already slanderous ones about Gabriel calling Halle the "N" word and the opinion of one old girlfriend, who referred to him as a "borderline racist."
But again we have to ask ourselves why is it that Halle's camp is leaking such horrible information? Whether it's true or not, both Halle and Gabriel should only be concerned with the well-being of their daughter. We're seeing none of that as they go back and forth with this grossness.
Such a shame. Such a waste of time and energy being so cruel.

Paramore’s Josh Farro Returns With New Band
After quite a bit of controversy surrounding brothers Josh and Zac Farro's exit from Paramore, it looks like at least one of the Farro Bros is ready to move on!
Here's what Josh Farro had to say about his new band, Novel American:
"Basically, I met these guys in high school — they're a little older than me, and that's a big deal when you're in high school, they were always in the cool crowd — but we connected after high school, and we got together after the whole Paramore thing, and I was like, 'I don't know if I want to be in another band, but I called the guys, we got together, we wrote and we jammed, and it was great, so we decided, 'Let's do another band.' And, honestly, I had some ideas that just didn't fit with Paramore, and I said, 'Guys, we can try these,' and they just loved them, and so that's really how it all started."
Farro's new band members are Van Beasley, Tyler Ward, and Ryan Clark. Farro will play guitar for Novel American.
More from Farro:
"My wife came up with the band name, because we were going through quite a long list — it got to the point where it was consuming our minds, because it was exciting — and she was like, 'What about Novel American?' … Because the definition means 'Of a new kind, or something that hasn't been seen or heard before.' And I think that kind of describes us. We want to be a new breath of fresh air to the music scene. We all love Jimmy Eat World, so it's hard not to sound like them, but there's a little of everything in there. We're huge fans of Radiohead, Sigur Rós, Explosions in the Sky … there's everything in there, really."
And more from Farro:
"[Paramore fans] just don't want this to be some dragged-out drama-fest. They just want to move on. I watched [MTV News' 'Paramore: The Last Word' interview], and, you know, I think we just disagree on a lot of things, and that's OK. I don't think it's wrong to disagree with someone, so, um, yeah, I just wish them the best in the future, and I really don't want to make it this huge drama thing, because then it becomes this huge war, and I don't want to dwell on that. I'm more excited about the future and this new band and that sort of thing."

"I think 'liberating' is a great description of how I've felt over the past month. Coming from Paramore, I didn't think that I would want to be in a band or want to have anything to do with it, and so, when I actually found that passion and love for music again, I was like, 'Wow, this is great. We felt like we were in high school, we were all so giddy, and we still are, because everything is falling in place perfectly, and that first practice was great, and from then on, we've just been on cloud nine."

Antigay Pastor Plans To Sue Over Show Cancellation
Sounds like a lot of hot air to us!
Charles McVety is an Evangelical minister and Canadian TV personality. Actually, scratch that. He isn't a personality anymore because he's no longer on TV. After he spewed some particularly hateful preaching on his show in December, his broadcasters canned his show.
Charles McVety plans to take legal action over the cancellation of his show following his on-air antigay remarks.
Postmedia News reports that Pastor McVety’s Word TV was canceled when McVety made antigay comments towards a Toronto pride event. They explain:
“In December's ruling, the council said McVety's description of Toronto's gay pride parade as a ‘sex parade,’ as well as his characterization of gay events as ‘malevolent, insidious and conspiratorial,’ were in breach of the standards."
Sounds about right to us. There is a code of ethics everyone should have to follow and when you step outside those bounds, you deserve what you get.
But Pastor McVety claims the cancellation is a case of “political censorship” and he is looking to take legal action.
How about, instead, you issue an apology for being so cruel! Then maybe they'll give you your show back!
