8-Year-Old Buys Gun At School For $3

WTF?!

Police in Queens, NY were contacted by school administrators after an 8-year-old boy purchased a handgun from a fellow classmate for $3.

The boy thought the gun was a toy and took it home to show his mother. When she realized he was holding a real gun, she took her son and the pistol back to school, where administrators alerted the police.

Police Commissioner Ray Kelly said the gun had "three live rounds in it and … a live round was found on the floor of the school room."

The 8-year-old who sold the gun has been charged with criminal possession of a weapon. His father has also been charged with criminal possession and acting in a manner to injure a minor.

The father allegedly purchased the gun for "self-protection."

It's so unbelievably shocking that parents are still recklessly purchasing hand guns and allowing their children to have access to them.

We don't blame the boy's mother for being outraged. So many people could have been hurt. Thankfully, there was no damage.

No Honeymoon Just Yet For Will And Kate

We can't believe how fresh and alert these two look after their big day!

Newlyweds William and Kate spent their first night as a married couple at Buckingham Palace after a long day of celebrating and partying all night.

The couple were seen strolling the Palace grounds on the morning after their wedding before thanking the staff and taking a helicopter to their next destination.

Were they flying off to their honeymoon??

Nope.

According to a Palace press release:

"The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have chosen not to depart for a honeymoon immediately.

Instead, after spending the weekend privately in the United Kingdom, The Duke will return to work as a Search and Rescue pilot next week. The locations of both their private weekend and their future honeymoon, which will be overseas, will not be disclosed in advance."

Hmm, very interesting.

Even though they're royalty, we like that they still remain down-to-earth. Nothing like getting back to their real lives!

But, after all those wedding preparations, you two deserve a break! Hope you take some time off and celebrate each other!

Kylie Will Make Your Life Better!!!

We felt so lucky that we got to see Kylie Minogue's last (and her first) tour of America, which was like a greatest hits mashup of her best songs and best tour moments.

We didn't think we could possibly outdo herself.

BUT SHE HAS!!!

We are soooo happy we flew to Boston for Kylie's first U.S. show of her new Aphrodite Live tour.

We were expecting a scaled-down version of her HUGE European show, but - shockingly - we were treated to an almost as equally huge American show. The trimming was so minimal!

Kylie's U.S. fans are so hardcore, and there was so much love in that room! We were lucky to be a part of a magical night!

The Aphrodite show is non-stop brilliance from beginning to end. The production value is through the roof! The pacing is on-point.

It is so joy-filled! It was JUST what we needed!

We think there are just a few of you at home who are scratching their heads in confuzzlement over why everyone's referring to Kate Middleton as the Duchess of Cambridge rather than the Princess of Wales.

We're here to rearrange your mind tools and set the record straight!

First of all, yes, technically, Kate is also known as Princess William of Wales, but that isn't her official title as far as the Palace is concerned. A few months back, Prince William sat down with The Queen to decide what their official titles will be and they decided he and Kate would officially be known as The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

But that's not all! Prince William also has two other titles to go by. Following royal tradition, the Queen bestowed William with these two additional titles: Earl of Strathearn and Baron Carrickfergus, linking him to Scotland and Northern Ireland.

Assaulted CBS Reported Lara Logan Gives First Interview Since Returning From Egypt

CBS News chief foreign correspondent Lara Logan, who was brutally beaten and sexually assaulted in Egypt in February, has finally spoken about her terrifying ordeal.

In her first interview since the incident, Lara told Scott Pelley for this Sunday's 60 Minutes that she was seperated from her team for 25 minutes and surrounded by hundreds of men. She recounted her heartbreaking attack, saying:

"There was no doubt in my mind that I was in the process of dying. I thought not only am I going to die, but it's going to be just a torturous death that's going to go on forever…"

How terrible! We're so sorry that ever had to happen to her!

While reporting in Egypt's Tahrir Square, her team's interpreter heard signs of trouble coming their way and urged them to leave, but it was too late and she was surrounded, then cut off from her bodyguard, producer, and cameraman.

During the interview she says the thoughts of her children sustained her throughout the attack. When she returned home and saw their faces, she was flooded with emotion, explaining:

"I felt like I had been given a second chance that I didn't deserve…because I did that to them. I came so close to leaving them, to abandoning them."

Again, we're so sorry she had to go through such a horrible ordeal. NOBODY should be subject to that kind of abuse, but we're glad to see she's overcoming the traumatic incident and moving on with her life.

Actually, the REAL most profitable movie of 2011 is kind of unexpected as well - James Wan's Insidious.

The independent horror flick was made for less than $1.5 million, and its global box office is already passing $50 million! Wowsa!

Insidious is on track for a final worldwide box office of between $80 and $90 million.

Still got eight months to go…should be inneresting to see if Insidious ends up being the most profitable movie of the year overall.

Then again, we know A LOT of people are excited for Fast Five…could be some competition there…

Student’s West Point Readmission Rejected Because Of Sexuality

We understand that their hands are somewhat "tied" when it comes to granting openly gay students admission before the Don't Ask Don't Tell bullshizz is finally repealed officially (they're basically just waiting on a date), but we feel like at this point it would be okay to start making exceptions.

Especially when the student in question, Katherine Miller, has already attended West Point, was a stellar student, and was ranked 9th in her class before she felt compelled to drop out for feeling guilty about hiding her sexuality from those around her and the school. She respectfully resigned, too, so it wasn't like she made a huge fuss over it and there were negative feelings between her and the school.

In fact, she got accepted to Yale afterwards and MISSED the camaraderie and prestige that came with West Point.

So if anyone has the passion and conviction to serve their country, it's her. And just because she's a lesbian, that makes her unfit to be readmitted before the official repeal date which IS coming regardless??

Not the coolest thing we've ever heard. But, at least the repeal itself is a step in the right direction, but it's a shame that she has to suffer any more because of something that is on its way out!

Lindsay Might Only Serve Just A Few More "Hours" Of Jail Time

We're not fooling ya. This is coming from a legitimate source in the Sheriff's Department - and it sounds like she shouldn't even bother going back to jail at all.

Last week, Lindsay Lohan was arrested at her court hearing, thrown in jail and then released again all within a matter of hours. She's working on an appeal right now to keep herself out of the clink for the rest of her 120 days sentence, but according to spokesperson for the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department, that might not be necessary.

Steve Whitmore has revealed that though LiLo has been found to be in violation for her probation, due to overcrowding, it is likely she will only serve a few "hours" of her prison sentence, rather than days. Steve explains:

"Instead of doing 120 days, or the reduced 20% sentence, Lindsay could serve only several hours, and then be released. If Lindsay were to surrender on a weekend, when the jails are the busiest, this would be Lindsay's best shot of getting out in no time."

You gotta love the system!

Steve points out that it's not just the issue of overcrowding that works in Lindsay's favor - it's her own behavior while being locked up. He adds:

"Sentences are significantly reduced for inmates if they obey all rules while they are in custody. Ms. Lohan has always been a very good inmate while she is in custody. She is always extremely cooperative and we have had no problems with her."

But of course! She was raised right! She knows how to respect and obey the rules…once she's been punished for breaking them in the first place.

Maybe it's worth looking into this plan of attack, LiLo. The less time you spend in court and jail, the more time you can spend making movies.

And let's face it - that ratio's been a little for the last five years!

Somehow, we don't think Robert DeNiro is going to let this get to him.

Over the weekend, DeNiro called out Donald Trump regarding his questioning of Barack Obama's nationality, during an on-stage interview at the Tribeca Film Festival:

"I won't name names, but certain people in the news in the last couple of weeks, just, what are they doing? It's crazy. Go get the facts. It's like a big hustle. It's like being a car salesman. How dare you!"

Here's what The Donald had to say about DeNiro in response:

"Well he’s not the brightest bulb on the planet. I’ve been watching him over the years and I like his acting, but you know in terms of when I watch him doing interviews and various other things, we’re not dealing with Albert Einstein."

So, we brought up the news that Hugh "One Of The Most Charming Brits" Grant was secretly seeing Tinglang Hong, and that they've been hanging out everyday and getting super close since January.

Now, witnesses are saying that Tinglang is sporting the tell-tale knocked-up baby bump look, and it seemed to have been noticed after a night of intense conversation and NO drinking on her part!

Okay, we understand that not everybody drinks, and that even if you do drink, you don't have to all the time. But, that observation mixed with what appears to be a baby bump leads us to some conclusions!

Oksana’s Team Denies Tampering With Audio Of Mel!

Just as we expected! The plot thickens!

Mel Gibson recently spoke out for the first time about the leaked audio tapes that depicted him hatefully and horrifically berating his then-girlfriend, Oksana Grigorieva, and claimed that they had been edited.

However, now HER representative, Steve Jaffe, has come forward to deny that the content had been tampered with in any way, shape or form, and that Gibson is just trying to "stir up controversy!"

He explains:

"We have heard Mel Gibson's irresponsible accusations that his vicious racist rants were in fact edited. They were not. We thought we had reached an agreement with Mr Gibson not to attack each other in the press. We were clearly wrong."

And to prove that they weren't messing around, they hired forensic audio expert Kent Gibson to listen to all 18 recordings released, and confirmed that they were all authentic!

He claims:

"In my professional opinion as a forensic audio examiner, I conclude that the recordings have not been modified, and can be considered authentic."

Inneresting!

Not especially surprising, but at this point, we just wish they'd leave each other alone and just move on!

Jesus On (Mock) Trial In Virginia

What would Jesus a modern jury do?

That's exactly what Mark Osler, a former U.S. Attorney, asked while holding a mock trial for Jesus in Richmond, Virginia.

Inneresting!

Church members and guests at the Church of the Holy Comforter played the role of the jury and used Virginia law to retry the sentencing phase of the blasphemy case against Jesus of Nazareth last week.

Osler wanted to hold the trial in part to call attention to the state’s use of capital punishment, which has the second highest amount of executions in the United States.

The former attorney-turned-professor believes “that story is very direct that we don’t have the moral authority” to execute prisoners.

So what did the modern day jury decide after hearing arguments from the prosecution and defense council?

While the jury believed the defendant would blaspheme again if not executed, the judge said:

“The majority of the juries voting on that issue found that the death sentence is not warranted. The defendant is remanded to the jailer for the rest of your natural life.”

So based on current Virginia laws, Jesus would live! Hooray! Only to rot away in prison. Boo! At least he'd be alive to appeal. Ha!

Lindsay Released From Jail!

After being sentenced on Friday to 120 days in jail and immediately taken into custody, Lindsay Lohan was taken to her home away from home, the Lynnwood Correctional facility.

Luckily for her, though, because this whole incident was over a misdemeanor, Lohan posted a $75,000 bond and was released Friday evening.

She was in custody for about 5 hours.

Lohan is due back in court on May 11th for a pretrial hearing.

Good luck to her!

P.S. We can't even begin to imagine how much her legal bills are! How can she afford to pay them all????

Jim Carrey Will Also Be On Office Season Finale

It's starting to feel like there will be more guest stars on the season finale of The Office than there will be of actual cast members! Ha!

Jim will be joining Ricky Gervais, Will Arnett, James Spader, Ray Romano and Catherine Tate as guest stars interviewing for Michael Scott's management position. (Which is an excellent explanation to have all the guest stars!)

Of course, depending on how strong the character is, we might actually love seeing Jim take over for Steve. We think he's a talented enough, funny enough guy to really pull it off. And he's got the star quality about him, so it'd be cool if he could suck it up and do a season of television at this point in his career just to make fans happy with what will probably be the final season!

Jeremy Renner Chosen To Take Over The Bourne Legacy

We are SO on board with this!

Universal has officially chosen Jeremy Renner to take the lead in the upcoming film, The Bourne Legacy.

Jeremy will not be playing the role of Jason Bourne, the role that made Matt Damon so famous, but will be a new character in a spinoff that will begin production in September.

Like Jason Bourne, however, Jeremy will be play a character that works for a covert government program.

Jeremy has been nominated for Oscars for his roles in The Hurt Locker and The Town so you know this will be good.

In fact, we're pretty sure it's going to be EPIC. We're SO happy he's been chosen for the new Bourne films.

The Opening You Didn’t See in Scre4m!

So, those of you who did go to see Scre4m this weekend instead of Rio, do we have a treat for you! You'll recall that back in January, Scre4m went back into production to do some reshoots, particularly for the flick's iconic opening sequence. We now have a better sense of what originally was supposed to happen, what was cut from the first draft and what was kept the same.

Want to know more? You should - we've even got some nifty visuals to help explain what happens. This is definitely SPOILERY for anyone who hasn't seen the movie yet, so if you don't want to know or haven't see Scre4m yet, we recommend holding off on this until later.

Alright, so here's how the opening ORIGINALLY played out.

The movie starts just as it does now, with two fake-out death scenes from two Stab movies. However, when the movie finally gets to "reality" in Woodsboro, the sequence of events takes a turn. The girls Jenny and Marnie, played by Aimee Teegarden and Brittany Robinson, have their little chit-chat about the anniversary of the real murders being that week and Marnie leaves the room, obviously freaked out by their conversation. She heads to the kitchen to get some snacks and turns back to see Ghostface standing behind an unaware Jenny in the living room. Convinced she is being punked, she turns away from her friend to get something, which is when Ghostface slashes Jenny to bits. Marnie hears Jenny's cries of agony, but thinks its all part of the prank, so she ignores it.

When she returns to the living room, she finds Jenny in bloody pieces and Ghostface ready for round two. She runs for it (as they always do), but alas, she doesn't make it far. Ghostface catches her from behind right before she makes it to the door and stabs her. She falls to the floor and looks up as Ghostface positions himself for the kill. Her final words are: “But you’re not real…”

Cue Scre4m title card! Dun, dun, DUN!!!!

Good stuff, huh? There's also a scene that was cut from the film because of the reshoots of Sheriff Dewey and his team going to Jenny's house to find Marnie's body hung from the ceiling fan and Jenny's mangled corpse bound to a chair, a la the original opening scene killings in the first Scream.

Now that you've heard the story, see some of the stills! No doubt they'll probably put this alternate opening on the DVD when it comes out, but that could be awhile, so enjoy these bits and pieces until then!

Marcia Cross’ Hubby Looks Well! Takes Girls Out To The Park!

We're so pleased to see you in such good health, Tom!

Tom Mahoney, Desperate Housewives star Marcia Cross' husband, took the pair's twin girls to the park over the weekend in Beverly Hills. Tom, who is a cancer survivor, looked like he had a lot of energy as he played with his girls and helped them ride their bikes.

So nice. Bet the girls loved spending time with their daddy!
