Right now, soap fans across the country are in mourning after it was announced that All My Children and One Life To Live are officially going off the air after decades of programming. Fans were shocked, but it turns out, they weren't the only ones. Susan Lucci apparently was completely blindsided by the announcement, as evident by the fact that three days prior, she was raving about the show's success!
When Susan was approached by paparazzi on Monday and asked about the then rumor that the show was going to be cancelled, Susan insisted that there was "no truth to it" and that she was gearing up for another storyline soon. Does that sound like someone who is in the know???
Further confirming Susan's lack of knowledge is her daughter, Liza Huber, who insisted her soap star mother learned about the show's fate on Thursday at the same time producers informed the rest of the cast and the rest of the world found out. While Lisa said her mother was "upset" by the news, she added that Susan has no desire to retire and is looking for new projects as speak.

Ticket sales for his upcoming concert have been so slow, promoters have been forced to take drastic measures to fill seats.
In fact, they've gone so far as to offer a 3-for-1 ticket deal for his show at the Burswood Dome.
Not even a 2-for-1 deal???
Ouch!!
Despite the fact that tickets are not selling, promoters refuse to move the show to a smaller venue. Concert organizer Daniel Prichard says that ticket sales tripled the week after Chris lost his cool on the set of Good Morning America.
Ew, tacky. Is that the best way to promote their headlining act?

After its first quarter on the air, Christina Norman, CEO of the OWN network, says Oprah Winfrey's personal cable network had a "good" debut.
In fact, after growing their primetime ratings by 32% since the launch, plus more shows on the way starring Rosie O'Donnell and Shania Twain, Christina Norman suggests the network is just getting ready to own television, saying:
"It's 13 weeks in. If anybody wants to write the story now about what it means and where it is, that's a little premature, and we are trying to stick to our knitting and keep our goals in mind and keep looking forward."
She's not worried about sponsorship either considering OWN has Walmart, Kohls, GM, and Target lining up to advertise, insisting:
"People believe in this brand, they believe in what we are doing and they believe now is the time to do it."
Christina also revealed Oprah's Twitter account has grown with OWN and assures any doubters out there that, "It's really her. It's actually really her."
For all the Oprah fans out there getting tired of just hearing from the media mogul over the internet, prepare yourselves for this bit of info that the CEO shared:

Summit Entertainment's security on the Breaking Dawn set is SO tight that they aren't even allowing anybody to leave for the day with scripts.
Sources say that before starting the film, auditioning actors weren't even allowed to read from the Breaking Dawn script, but rather read scenes from the first three Twilight scripts.
K-Stew and R-Patz aren't even getting preferential treatment. They've gotta memorize those lines on set like everyone else!

John Travolta Is Completely Jazzed About Gotti Film!
A press conference was recently held in honor of the new John Gotti film, being helmed by Nick Cassavetes and starring John Travolta.
A lot of questions came up, ranging from why Johnny T. loved the story so much, to speculation that Lindsay Lohan will also be in the movie.
She WAS in the audience, and Nick confirmed that they are in talks with the young actress to play Gotti's daughter.
Travolta's passion for the work is very apparent, and he even said:
"This is probably the most interesting untold story in this country."
He [also] cited the "beautiful love I feel from the family" and the dichotomy of Gotti Sr. as appealing, plus he said he is a fan of Growing up Gotti.
Your passion for the project is so great to see, John! Glad to see you are giving it your all!
The crew is looking to cast Gotti Jr. within the next few weeks, and we're excited to hear who they get!

Tokyo Disney Will Reopen THIS FRIDAY!
Hooray!!!
Last month, Disney temporarily shut down Tokyo Disney due to Japan's earthquake and tsunami. Certainly made sense to us, and we were glad to see that they were putting the well being of their employees in front of business.
Now, we're very pleased to announce that Tokyo Disney will reopen this friday!
The park will run on an abbreviated schedule, closing each night at 6 p.m. because of electricity shortages, and nearby hotels are expected to slowly return to full operation as well.
Disney's other local park, Tokyo Disney Sea, will open later this month.
We're so glad to see everything getting back on track in Tokyo.
We wish Tokyo Disney park employees all the best with their return to work!

Apparently, people are still talking about Pia Toscano getting booted from American Idol. We've tried to ease the blow by proving she'll be just fine on her own, and yet people are still upset. We don't really get it, but someone who understands less is Idol producer Nigel Lythgoe. The man behind the show knows exactly how America has been voting since day one and he is here to tell you that Pia was never poised to win it all, not by a long shot! He explained:
“I know the [voting] results, so I know she was never a frontrunner. The fact of the matter is that it appears that Pia didn’t connect with the audience as much as we maybe think she did. And she wasn’t voted through.”
Whomp, whomp.
We think it's time to move on anyway. Quit it with the voters remorse! Aren't there like, eight more people to obsess over still. They apparently got your votes so how about you start giving them a little attention!

Mark Zuckerberg can thank Vin Diesel for helping to make Facebook as popular as it is.
Before celebrities were turning to social media sites such as FB and Twitter to reach out to their fans, Vin was putting in some major "face" time on the website.
Not only did he manage to gather over 6 million friends on the site, but it also helped him stop smoking!
"I was always very, very private. Facebook became an opportunity to connect with fans directly for the first time. Now we’re in this new world where it is all there on the Internet for you to play with, and you can let people in as much as you want. For me it was very therapeutic. I mean, I stopped smoking cigarettes because of Facebook."
So how did he manage to do that? He says:
"Back when I only had, like, 100,000 friends, my girlfriend said if I got more fans than Barack Obama I had to quit smoking. I had six million by January 2010, and it was all because I was communicating with people honestly. I believe I was second to Michael Jackson’s page in popularity for a while."
Maybe some other celebs can take note. Being honest with fans actually works!

The Catholic Church is going after Lady GaGa over her upcoming music video for Judas, where she will reportedly portray Mary Magdalene.
President of the Catholic League for Religious and Civil Rights, Bill Donahue, blasted GaGa, calling the video a "stunt." He added:
"People have real talent, and then there is Lady Gaga. I find Gaga to be increasingly irrelevant. Is this the only way to jet up her performance? This isn’t random, we are getting closer to Holy Week and Easter."
Oh, please. He couldn't be further from the truth!

Another Hansel & Gretel Movie…Starring Shannen Doherty
Last we heard about Hansel & Gretel, the fairy tale characters were being reimagined for Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters, with X-Men's Famke Janssen playing "the leader of the witches."
Now, ANOTHER Hansel & Gretel adaptation, Gretl, is in the works, but this time at SyFy with Shannen Doherty set to star in the title role.
Here's the synopsis for the project:
"As an adult, a witch hunter (Hansel) returns to the village where he lived as a child to find and kill the witch who killed his sister, Gretl (Doherty), only to find that Gretl is not dead and danger lurks around every corner."
This instant classic doesn't air until November, but in the meanwhile, we've got Piranhaconda to tide us over! LOLs!

In the fall, expect to see two new it the airwaves of the pay-cable station. The network has just greenlit a 12-episode pickup for Kristen Bell's new half-hour comedy, House of Lies, and Claire Danes hour thriller/drama, Homeland.
Hmm. Both shows are pretty unique, but is there room for two blonde bombshells on the network? We shall see!
Personally, we think we're going to like Claire's CIA thriller show over Kristen's darker, Office-esque comedy.

Javier Bardem Closing Deal For The Dark Tower
Waaaay back in May, we learned that a film based on Stephen King's Dark Tower series was in the works!
Now, almost a year later, wheels are moving, and No Country For Old Men/Biutiful star Javier Bardem is closing a deal to star in the film as gunslinger Roland Deschain.
For those of you who aren't familiar with the character/series, Deschain is "humanity’s last hope to save civilization," and he encounters peril on his way to Mount Doom The Dark Tower!
Fans of Bardem will be excited to hear that the deal he's working on will not only attach him to a trilogy of films, BUT will also attach him to a "TV component" and lots and lots of $$$.
As we've said before, we're not TOO familiar with the Dark Tower series, but we know that it has a fan-base that's totally obsessed! We're excited for them.

Liz Taylor Refused Heart Surgery Before Death
Ugh, we hate to think such a thing, but according to The National Enquirer, it may have been the case.
According to the mag, Elizabeth Taylor died of a massive heart attack last month that could have been avoided if she had wanted to avoid. Supposedly, her doctors advised her to undergo a life-saving heart surgery six months ago that would have bought her more time - but she didn't want it. As one friend explains:
"The doctors wanted to go in to clean up her clogging arteries and surgically repair her leaking heart," the friend said. They'd done what they could noninvasively, but they recommended bypass surgery and valve replacement to correct the problem. There were risks involved, but Elizabeth had a good track record when it came to surgical recovery. It may have bought her another 10 years."
Wow. Ten years. Imagine what she could have done with so much time. Then again, maybe she wouldn't have had the past six months if she had gone through with the procedure. You just can never know with these kinds of things.
In the end, we guess we understand why she decided not to go through with it, if she actually did. She had a lot of surgeries in her lifetime - somewhere around 100 in her lifetime. After that, who would want to go under the knife again?

Paul Rudd Asks Donations Be Made To The American Cancer Society In Honor Of His Birthday!

For our birthday this year, in lieu of presents, we asked that donations be made to this amazing charity, GLSN, and we were so thrilled when we were able to make a real difference and people donated above and beyond what we had even wished for! We can't thank you all enough!
It seems our good deed is catching on as other celebrities are promoting the same acts of kindness to honor their own birthdays. Turns out,Paul Rudd is running a campaign to collect donations for the American Cancer Society. He's asking friends, family and fans to donate money equal to your age (ex. if you're 25, you donate $25) to help this amazing organization that sponsors support groups for those with cancer and programs attempting to fight it.
On the donations webpage, which you get to by clicking HERE, Paul explains:
"For nearly 100 years, the American Cancer Society has been working to create a world with less cancer and more birthdays. The movement for more birthdays is about everyday people, just like you and I, coming together to make a difference. This year more than 11 million cancer survivors will celebrate another birthday, thanks in part to the progress ACS has already made.
My dad died of cancer.
It's horrible. I miss him so much and think of him every day. Before he was diagnosed, I never really thought about cancer. It's not one of those subjects any of us choose to spend our time thinking about. Since he died, I've learned that every one out of every two men and one out of every three women will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime.
That means all of us have either had cancer or known someone who has been diagnosed with cancer.
With every person who joins the movement, we can get closer to the day when cancer never steals another year from someone’s life."
Such an important cause. We're so pleased to see him and so many others taking the initiative like this.

Alec Baldwin Announces The End Of The World 30 Rock In 2012
All good things must come to an end - but he could've given us a bit more warning!
Last night, Alec Baldwin dropped a bomb of a story while he was being honored at the National Dance Institute's annual fund-raising gala. After chatting a bit about the institute and his upcoming role in Rock of Ages alongside Tom Cruise, Alec announced that he'd have a lot more time on his hands come next year as his hit show, 30 Rock, was heading into it's final season.
"I will tell you one thing and that is our show next year is our last year of the show…Our contracts are expired [in 2012], and Tina is gonna have a big career directing films and writing. She's going to be the next Elaine May. She'll be great."
Of course she will be, but why walk away now! The show is still a massive hit, even at 10 PM! It seems like such a waste to leave on such a high note.
Then again, perhaps its better to scurry now with the high note is still able to be had. With The Office facing a possible serious decline without Steve Carrell and no other heavy-hitting show to help as a lead-in, 30 Rock may not be able to keep its momentum.
Hey! There is only so much Parks and Rec can do! They have to worry about their own show!
